火博体育正念计划

Fostering wisdom, compassion, stress reduction and well-being on campus through meditation and mindfulness 项目, weekly yoga asana classes, workshops, and events.

Open to the many different traditions that explore these practices, both spiritual 和世俗. T在这里 is something for every person and every body, no matter what your 人生道路可能是. Classes are deeply grounded in yogic tradition and taught by trained instructors. They are open to all Skidmore students, regardless of experience or spiritual background. Classes normally take place in 威尔逊教堂 multiple times per week and mats are 提供.

正念 & 冥想

Guided 冥想: Every weekday during the academic year (early September through 5月初). 案例205下午4 - 4:20. 

Join for twenty-minutes of guided breathing and mindfulness meditation. 新来的人 欢迎. 

开放冥想空间: Drop-in space for meditation is available in multiple locations around campus and additional space can be arranged if you find yourself needing space further from these 地点: 

  • 111年图书馆: This room in Scribner Library is available for drop-in use for prayer, meditation, and reflection any time the library is open (which often includes late night!). 冥想 cushions, chairs, and prayer rugs are available. 
  • 威尔逊教堂: Whenever the space is not otherwise reserved (including most mornings). 具体的 time can also be reserved for meditation use by contacting ORSL. 冥想垫子, chairs, and prayer rugs are available. 夏天注意: 威尔逊教堂 is not available for drop-in use for most of the summer. See the mail ORSL page for furhter space updates or contact us with questions.

Wednesdays @ 6:25 PM in 威尔逊教堂, open to students, staff, faculty, and visitors

 

安排请注意: This gathering takes place most Wednesdays throughout the year, including the Summer 个月. However, t在这里 are some weeks when we pause from gathering or change locations so be sure to confirm the schedule through the 正念 Program updates or by contacting 霍利·哈金斯或者ORSL. 

The Zen gathering at 火博体育大学 brings together longtime practitioners and newcomers with experienced leaders from Skidmore and the local community. 所有个人 religious backgrounds are 欢迎. 新来的人 please try to arrive before 6:25 pm, as we offer basic Zen meditation instruction for first-time attendees promptly at 6:30 pm. Late-comers are 欢迎 to enter quietly. We sit two periods interspersed with walking meditation, typically ending by 7:45.
